TGIF

I don't have anything in particular to say just writing. I am glad it's friday and a holiday one at that! I am looking forward to just hanging out, going to the gym, cleaning the house (# 2 from below) and watching Notre Dame vs Georgia Tech.

Yeah - bye bye {yawn} baseball - it's college football which is almost as good as hockey. Finally a sport where people actually MOVE instead of standing around pulling their weiners!

Sunday I am riding up with buddy K to see the races and Monday I need to think about what I'm going to take to London which, is
coming up the end of next week!

Anyway - everyone have a great weekend of relaxation!

Ten unusual things

10 things I bet you didn’t know:

1. I am a very efficient worker and I can get things done fast – even personal things like getting ready in the morning and house chores. Because of that I get impatient with people because I think most people do things very slow.

2. I can’t stand the thought of leaving a dirty house before I go away on a trip even if it’s only for a few days.

3. I check my bank account at least twice a day online.

4. I was always a very poor student in elementary and high school. I didn’t get good grades until I went to college.

5. The only food I don’t like is turnips because my mother once told me they were mashed potatoes to get me to eat them. I took a big bite and almost got sick when I realized what they were. To this day I will not eat them.

6. My family always took me to quack doctors when I was a kid so to this day I have a big mistrust of doctors and dentists.

7. My favorite smell is honeysuckle – even though it’s an invasive plant I let it grow all over my yard.

8. I dream about living in Europe for a summer.

9. I love my fat office at work and get off on the fact that there are people that make more money than I that don’t have a window.

10. On a scale of 1-10 as far as my happiness goes I’d rate it at a 9. The only other thing I could possibly make 10 is if I won the lottery.

TAG! You’re it!

Coolness is a state of mind

It's really the dog days of summer with the heat topping 100 degrees here in Georgia! (Yeah, my power bill was $400!)

So,
Afunt had some great questions in her post that I want to continue.

1. Would you choose sex over a great meal at your favorite restaurant?

2. Have you ever done anything illegal that if you got caught would be instant jail?

3. Mixed drink, cold beer or glass of wine?

4. Would you be involved in a big scandal if it meant you'd be paid a million dollars but people would always remember you by that scandal?

5. Who do you miss right now?

6. What is your favorite workout?

7. What is the most extreme sport you have ever done?

8 If you had to choose between a great house or a great lover which would you choose?

9. If you had a choice between adopting a stray cat or a pug which would it be?

10. What is a talent you always wanted but never had?

Going to my happy place

It is Monday morning and my body is tired, sore and I am on my period. I haven’t had a day off since we went to Florida the end of July. I knew it would be like this when I booked two classes in a row to earn some extra $ to go to London next month. And, despite the hard work and exhaustion and feeling like I always have to be somewhere doing something 24/7 lately it will be worth it. In times like this I go to my happy place(s). I have several of those. Some of them are:

Florida – going to my friend’s house. This is us dancing at their luscious pool in the back of their FAT house across the road from the beach.

Outdoor showers. Our Florida friends also had a shower built outside by the pool. B and I took several of those together while we were there. (And, Zest soup reminds me of those. I put a bar in my shower at home)

(Despite having to ride to work in the heat) Riding my motorcycle. I need to do that more often. I fantasize about the day I can play hooky and ride up to the mountains.

London and seeing my sister again. I have not seen her since Christmas.

Champagne bubble baths with B.

Sleeping in with clean sheets on the bed.

What are your happy places?

No business riding no motorcycle

I hate to start out posting after being dormant for awhile with a rant but, hey, it’s been awhile since I ranted about something so it’s long overdue.

Maybe I will start out with a word of advice and then elaborate.

If you are 60 years old or greater in age (and, since my last post I am getting closer and closer to that age…) and have never ridden a motorcycle……

DON’T START NOW!

If you are 60 years old or greater in age and have had open heart surgery within the last year and are on all kinds of medication plus never having ridden………

DON’T F-ING START NOW!

If you are all of the above and are stupid enough to take a class in the hottest month of summer then………

SAVE ME THE TROUBLE OF DOING CPR ON YOUR STROKED OUT @SS AND JUST STAY HOME AND STROKE OUT ON YOUR OWN TIME!

Now the elaboration: The last (3) classes I have taught have had all of the above. Why, why, why does one want to do this I don’t know! But, it makes for a very miserable class for everyone! Not to mention that it has been 90+ degrees down here in Georgia and being on asphalt all day makes for temp’s over 100 degrees.
And, I am so tired of all these GEEZERS wanting to suddenly (try to) learn how to ride a motorcycle and in the hottest part of the summer, too! Where are the grandchildren to talk them out of it? Or the wives or husbands? It’s just not worth it, people!!

(Help save Grandma from loosing her mind!!)

Now, if you have ridden before in your life – for many years, even, and want to take the class to get your license then that’s another matter. You have developed the skills, muscle memory and aptitude to ride.

But, if not then take up checkers or collecting stamps or something and save your life and everyone else's you put at risk by getting on a motorcycle.
